This upcoming electric bike scheduled to release later this month is the brainchild of Revolt Intellicorp. This EV start-up is headed by Rahul Sharma. Rahul is also the co-founder of the Indian smartphone brand Micromax.
The startup claims that RV 400 is the first artificial intelligence-powered electric commuter bike of the country. It has a top speed of 85 Km/h and can cover a range of 156 Km. The bike can be started with a dedicated app called MyRevolt. Initially, this bike will be available in Delhi and Pune. In the coming months, the sales and availability of the RV 400 will span across various states.
The RV 400 was scheduled to release on July 2019. However, as of recent updates, the EV may release in August. The pre-booking of this bike is still open. Interested people can pay a token of 1000 INR to pre-book the bike. The pre-booking is available on the Revolt Motors official website and Amazon.
Emflux Motors
Electric vehicle makers are no longer limiting themselves to commuter segment scooters and motorcycles. Now they have also starting to cater to a niche segment of consumers. Emflux Motors from Bengaluru, India has come up with their offering Emflux One. It is the first electric bike of India in the sports segment. This is a premium segment bike with powerful performance.
Emflux Motors came into existence in 2016. They want to introduce 10 million units of electric vehicles by 2027. Varun Mittal, Ankit Khatri and Vinay raj Somsekhar are the joint founders of this EV startup. Young adults in India have a great attraction for high-end sports bike and superbikes. The Emflux One can meet their need of a high performing and sustainable bike at a reasonable price.
Emflux One will serve the purpose of both commuter as well as a track friendly bike. This bike may release towards the end of 2019. Emflux Motors claim that this bike can achieve a top speed of 200 Km. It will take only three seconds to reach the speed of 0-100 km/h. The bike can efficiently cover a range of 200 kilometers with one session of charge. Its motor packs a torque of 84 nm at 8400 RPM.
Ather energy
If you are are looking for an option for electric two-wheelers in the upper mid-range and premium class, then Aither 450 scooter is the machine for you. This eco-friendly scooter comes from the workshops of Bengaluru based EV startup ather energy. Its founders are Swapnil Jain and Tarun Mehta.
Ather is popular for its smart electric scooter Ather 350 and ather 450. The firm has also developed AtherGrid for EV charging. Their investors include popular business faces such as Flipkart, Hero Motocorp, Tiger Global, etc.
This start-up has its own experience centers called Ather Space which it believes will enhance the customer experience. Potential customers can get full knowledge of their products and can test ride as well. India has a large number of consumers that commute on a daily basis. The traffic issues encourage people to go for lightweight scooters which is easier to traverse, maintain and handle. Srivaru Motors
Imagine an electric vehicle startup in India that is being headed by an ex-engineer of Tesla. Well, it’s the Srivaru Motors from Tamil Nadu which we are talking about. Mohanraj Ramasamy heads the Srivaru Motors with extensive work experience in Tesla. This firm is quietly working hard on its debut EV, an all-electric motorcycle called Prana.
This startup came to existence in 2018 and worked fast enough to finalize product specification in the same year itself. Then in 2019, it got the CMVR approval. In the later part of 2019, it wants to introduce the Prana bike to the Indian consumers.
Prana will exhibit more torque than the Honda CB300R. It will pack a motor with a power output of 35 Nm. This bike from Srivaru Motors will run on Lithium-ion battery. Prana will be available in three variants. The base model will be called ‘Class’ followed by two other higher variants ‘Grand’ and ‘Elite’.
ATI Motors
This is a startup from Bengaluru that is currently working on designing an electric cargo vehicle. The founders of this company are Dr. V Vinay, Saurabh Chandra, and Saad Nasser. While other EV startups are targetting the common public, ATI has a different gameplan.
It is working on an autonomous cargo vehicle targetting a commercial usage. This EV will have private spaces and it can carry payload up to 1 tonne. Their proposed EV goes by the name of Sherpa.
As per its makers, the Sherpa can deliver payload continuously for eight hours on a single session of charge. They are still working on perfecting their product. Now that India has a wide array of electric vehicles in the commuter segment, ATI Motor’s Sherpa will carve a niche for themselves in the cargo management section. This is definitely a unique move from the manufacturer.
