The Indian market already has a plethora of ICE bikes. There are a number of prominent Indian and international brands that are producing bikes in various categories. It ranges from the commuter bike and spans all the way to sports and premium superbikes.

However, from the last year and early 2019, India has begun a gradual shift to a sustainable mode of transportation. In a more simple term, India is embracing electric vehicles. When we say vehicles, the domain includes two, three and four-wheelers. Electric two-wheelers, in particular, are gaining faster traction in the country.

The electric two-wheelers are not only limiting itself to commuter vehicles. Those who are motorcycle enthusiasts, they can enjoy really sleek looking electric motorcycles. Already we have the Revolt RV 300 and Revolt RV 400 which literally sold out in no time. That’s not all. There is Bengaluru-based Emflux Motors are coming up with an electric sports bike Emflux One. In fact, they have some more naked street bikes in their upcoming Emflux Two line up.

There are new EV makers in the industry as well which have some stunning looking electric motorcycle. One of them is the Rissala Motors. Recently, they have launched some commuter specific two-wheelers under the Evolet brand name. However, what was more catchy in the launch event was a fully-faired electric sports bike called Evolet Hawk.

In this post, we will talk about Evolet Hawk and its design and expected specifications. Mind you that the automaker Rissala motors have not yet officially revealed any spec sheet or particular information about the Evolet Hawk. However, the bike has been unveiled in public. So, from its design and looks, we can paint a picture of attributes the bike is going to pack for the consumers.

Evolet Hawk: Design and specifications

The design and the color finish has a striking resemblance to that of Yamaha YZF-R15 V3. The front face design is nothing unique as such. Many sports grade ICE bike already have this similar design.

If Evolet Hawk releases early, then it will be the first fully-faired bike of India. It will butt heads with the Emflux One. However, the Hawk may release in early or mid-2020.

The bike most probably comes with a clip-on handlebar which has now become a common practice in any entry-level sports bike. So, why should electric bikes stay behind in this matter.? However, this type of handle provides a very neat handling experience. The corner turning ease varies from bike to bike. Mostly, it is good enough and like we said is the common practice among various manufacturers.

Its charging point is present in the same region where you have a petrol tank on the ICEVs. Evolet Hawk is expected to have a top speed which may be of 100kmph. This is quite okay in terms of it being an electric bike. With a single session of charge, this bike can cover a range up to 150 kilometers.

The braking system makes use of dual-disc on the front tire. It is not really clear which braking system are these. The tires are of 17-inches tubeless tires.

Powertrain

The electric motor as you can see from the above image sits in an enclosed section under the body fairings. However, there is no information on the actual motor capacity of the electric bike Hawk. We expect to see a brushless DC motor. It will most likely have a Lithium-ion battery.

From what appears from the current scene, this is the only bike from Rissala motors. There are no variants of this bike. Depending upon how successful their current line-up performs we may get to see a naked electric bike as well.

Digital Connectivity for Evolet Hawk

Like any other electric bike, Evolet will also have its own dedicated application. It will enable the rider to control the ignition. We have already seen this in Revolt RV 400 and its dedicated smartphone application. Also, the app will provide all the information about the battery status of the bike. It will also deliver the information about trips carried out on the bike. The application will provide the user with service reminders.

Speaking of the battery, we may get to see swappable battery as the RV 400 has. Some sources say that the Hawk will take around 5 hours to completely charge its battery.

Price

Now, this is a no brainer that when you bring sustainability, style, performance within one machine, it will cost a lot of money. However, if the components are localized, then the pricing can be fair.

We believe Evolet Hawk’s price will range somewhere between 1.5 Lakhs and 2 lakhs INR. However, if the automaker decides to introduce variants on the basis of the battery pack, then we can expect two models.

This is the exact way Revolt Motors created a hype about the RV 400 and on the final launch date, they revealed the RV 300. This way of selling the EV will actually attract more EV enthusiasts. This we are mentioning on the basis of speculation and current market trends. It could be different though. We will update this post with all the accurate spec sheet and detailed information on the powertrain once it is officially available.
