Volvo Polestar has opened a new factory in Shanghai. This is a massive production facility. This factory will make Polestars for both the Chinese and global market. The Polestar 1 electric hybrid car is already under production at this factory. By the end of 2019, Polestar will begin delivering the new Polestar 1 to its customers.
CEO of Polestar says that the new manufacturing unit is a great place to work. The place reflects the brand of Polestar. he also mentions that they are following the production timeline as per heir plan. The whole team of polestar is very proud at the achievement.

The company plans to produce 500 units of the car every year. The price of Polestar 1 may range between 130-150,000 Euros. This is approximately $160,000-$185,000. this is quite expensive considering it is a hybrid EV.
Even though Polestar 1 is hybrid, it will offer the same range as an all-electric EV. It will come with a battery pack of 34kWh. This is something we rarely see on a hybrid plug-in machine.
However, the full electric Polestar 2 will not be manufactured at this facility. A separate factory may be setup at Luqiao, China for its production.
