Description

The Ford Focus Electric is an all-electric hatchback produced by Ford. The Focus Electric is Ford’s second full production, all-electric vehicle(the first being the Ford Ranger EV), and production began in December 2011. It uses the same body as the IC engine-based third generation Ford Focus. The 23 kWh model of Ford Focus Electric has now been discontinued.

Performance

The EV can hit 100km/h in 9.7s. It supports 76 miles range which is very suitable for daily commutes.

Motor and Charging

The Ford Focus Electric 23 kWh is propelled by a front electric motor with an output of 107kW providing  250Nm of torque. It supports DC fast charging up to 50 kW.

Design

Focus Electric features Trinity front-crash architecture and SPACE (Side Protection And Cabin Enhancement) Architecture which you can find on the IC-based Ford Focus. The EV packs an ultra-high-strength Boron steel frontal-impact absorption beam with rails designed to transfer impact forces to the roof structure. It also features decoupling mounts for the electric motor. Over 55% of the body structure of Focus Electric is made from high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel.

The cloth seats inside Focus Electric are made with environmentally friendly REPREVE yarn. It’s produced from recycled content – a blend of post-industrial and post-consumer polyester fibers.
