A new Audi electric off-roader has been revealed. This car goes by the name AI Trail Quattro. It will appear at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor show. Audi unveiled an image of the car as well.
That car definitely looks pretty tough. The design is very high-end yet compact. The Trail Quattro exhibits an aggressive look. Its tire sets are quite large, making it suitable for offroading. It may implement the All-wheel-Drive system. Currently, there are no details regarding the specs of the Audi electric off-roader.
From its design and the purpose it will serve, we assume that this off-roader will be quite expensive. There are no words on whether it will have a production version as well. The one in the image is a concept prototype.
Recently, the German automaker launched the new e-tron 50 Quattro. The Audi e-tron 2019 earned the IIHS safety rating. It is the first electric car to get this rating. The new e-tron 50 will sell in 2020. It offers a peak torque of 540Nm and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 7 seconds.
It seems Audi has plans to focus more on electric vehicles in 2019. Already Audi has a great presence in the IC market. However, the EV market is gradually catching up. So, it wants to incorporate the same presence in the domain of EV as well.
We can expect further leaks about the Trail Quattro in the coming days. Otherwise, we’ll have to wait for its full unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2019.
