The 2019 Audi e-tron becomes the first all-electric vehicle to earn the IIHS rating. It is the acronym for Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It provides a high-level safety rating. The Audi e-tron has received the 2019 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award from IIHS. This is a great feat for the German automaker. Even popular electric cars from Tesla are yet to get this rating.

To earn the IIHS rating, a vehicle has to earn good ratings in various tests. The car has to go through six crashworthiness evaluation. Also, the vehicle has to get a good rating for its front crash prevention capability. Again, the vehicle must have a good headlight rating as well.

According to IIHS, 2019 Audi e-tron scored well in crashworthiness testing. Also, it earned a good rating for passenger and driver-side small overlap front. The EV has received good ratings for its roof strength. It also passed the restraint tests.

The forward collision warning component of e-tron meets the criteria of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The 2019 Audi SUV was very responsive to prevent the front end crash test. The high-beam-assist feature in Audi-e-tron 2019 is a major reason for its good rating. This feature will automatically switch between high and low beams sensing the presence of other vehicles on the road.

Recently, the new Audi e-tron 50 Quattro was launched exclusively for the European market. It will begin selling in 2020. The new SUV from Audi can do 0-100km/h in 7 seconds. It comes with dual motor for two axles. The EV has a peak torque of 540Nm. Audi claims that this EV can cover a range of 500 kilometers.
