We are very familiar with the Volkswagen Beetle running on an ICE. Now, that the world is shifting to sustainability, motors are replacing the ICEs. So, the German automaker will bring the electric-powered version of the Beetle. In fact, it has revealed a concept of Electric Volkswagen Beetle.
This concept model will be on display at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor show. Volkswagen’s partner eClassics is the designer of this concept. This car will get its power from a 60kW electric motor. It can reach 50km/h in less than 4 seconds. Again it will take eight seconds to reach 80km/h.
The Volkswagen Beetle electric will offer a top speed of 150km/h. The automaker claims that the electric Beetle can efficiently cover a range of 200 kilometers.
The electric beetle concept has a battery system on the underbody. It consists of a module of 14 batteries. Each of the battery has a capacity of 2.6kWh. The total capacity sums up to 36.8kWh.
Volkswagen is also going to launch its electric car ID3 at the Motor Show. It claims an astonishing pre-booking of over 30,000 units of the ID3.
The electric Beetle will reflect the classic design while performing efficiently in terms of modern electromobility. According to Volkswagen, in the future, more such cars will be electrified. So, let’s watch out for the Electric Volkswagen Beetle at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
