New Volkswagen electric car ID3 will unveil next week. The German automaker has mentioned of this in a press release. The ID3 will reveal before the Frankfurt Motor show. It will be on display at the event.
This car is the first one which is built on the MEB platform. The special edition of the upcoming Volkswagen electric car will pack a medium-size battery pack. It will have a capacity of 58kWh. The EV can cover a range of 420 kilometers.
The normal production version of ID3 will have the option for 3 different types of battery. The base variant will be of 45kwh. A mid-range variant will follow with 58kWh power. Also, there will be a third, a performance variant with 77kWh battery pack.
The base variant will exhibit a WLTP based range of 330km. Volkswagen ID3 top variant of 77kwh battery will offer a range of 550km.
As of now, we have only come across the camouflaged prototypes of the ID3. Its actual looks will reveal at the September Motor show in Germany.
The base price of ID3 will be less than €30,000 as per the sources. This price includes all the taxes. Volkswagen expects that this electric car will be its most affordable machine. ID3 may not release in the US.
