Ford has officially revealed a preliminary version of its upcoming electric car. The Ford electric prototype gets its inspiration from the Mustang.  This car will most probably release in 2020. The automaker has recently carried out a winter test using the prototype.

The reason for the winter test was to bust some EV myths. There is a belief that electric vehicles cannot perform in snowy condition. So, the testing was carried out in the extreme condition. Ford admits that driving in highly cold terrains does affect the range negatively. However, it is not a major issue to worry about. Even this Mustang-inspired EV offers a range of 300 miles(482km approx).

This EV from Ford will butt heads with the Tesla Model Y. Both of them may enter the market next year. In the pictures and video, the vehicle has a complete camouflage. Obviously, Ford doesn’t want to spill the beans unnecessarily.

Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president of global operations says that the new Ford EV will in the showrooms by the next year. Currently, not much information about this vehicle is available. We can assume that if Ford expects it to counter the model Y, then it must have a high-end powertrain.
