Description

The Smart ED3 electric drive is an all-electric commuter best suited for the city ride. It was unveiled at the September 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. As of now, this vehicle has been discontinued.

Performance

It has a very smooth on-road performance. It is just one of those easy-to-handle commuters that simply fulfill the day-to-day city traveling purposes. It can reach 60 km/h in 11 seconds.

Charging

This vehicle would take 6 hours to completely charge if it uses the onboard 3.3 kW charger. If the user opts for fast charge with 240-Volt Level 2 charging station, it will take 3.5 hours to reach 80 percent.

Design

As you may guess from the image, this EV is simple and brings no sophisticated decor inside or outside. If you compare ED2 with other modern days EVs, then, the former’s design will look outdated. However, the ED2 comes with two gauges to provide info about the charge of the vehicle and power-delivery.

Price

The Smart Electric Drive ED3 has been discontinued since 2012. A used ED3 will cost around $5,399.
