Popular Indian automaker Tata Motors has a lot of plans to take India to its goal of full sustainable transportation. It already has few electric cars in the market. In fact, it has plans to introduce more sustainable cars in the coming days. In 2020, we may get to see some new lineup of cars from Tata Motors. These new EVs will make use of a new and improved powertrain. Recently, Tata Motors has come up with this new powertrain. It goes by the name of Ziptron technology.

Ziptron in a Nutshell

CEO of Tata motors says that Ziptron is a state-of-art technology brand. It has been tested rigorously for over 1 million kilometers. By implementing this powertrain they aim to fasten the process of switching to electric mobility in India. Also, it will enable to realize the government’s plan to go full electric throughout the nation.

Tata’s upcoming electric car Tigor Ev and Nexon EV will use the Ziptron powertrain. The EVs can exhibit a range of 250 kilometers. The electric cars will run on Permanent magnet AC induction motors. It will also comprise of a cooling circuit to prevent the woes of overheating. Those vehicles will come with liquid-cooled battery systems. Also, they will be both dust and water-resistant. The battery pack will come with an IP67 rating.

Tata also says that the battery management system has been re-designed. In the new EVs, the users will get a better battery life spanning up to eight years. This ensures that the automaker wants it vehicles to give consistent performance.
