Lately, Volkswagen ID3 has been the center of attraction since its first-look has revealed. Now the word is out that the Volkswagen ID3 production will start in November this year. The manufacturing of this car will take place at the production facility in Zwickau.

Zwickau plant usually manufactures ICEVs. Since 2018 Volkswagen has been converting the facility to make EVs. The first two assembly lines are ready as of now. 12 new buildings are currently under construction.  Starting from 2021, this facility will produce all the key body parts required for the MEB vehicles.

The work on the second assembly line at Zwickau will begin in 2020. There are plans to produce six models of EV. All of them will be built on MEB. This production work will begin in 2021. Volkswagen has a target to produce 330,000 vehicles every year. The automaker is investing about 1.2 billion euros to renovate this production facility.

Volkswagen recently mentioned that there are have been around 30,000 bookings for the ID3. This figure positively indicates that a number of people are shifting to sustainable vehicles. The ID3 marks the beginning of a new generation of Volkswagen electric cars. The car will be based on Modular Electric Drive toolkit (MEB). It will debut at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show.

The ID3 special edition will pack a 58kWh battery. We expect this model to exhibit a range of 420 kilometers. The regular version of ID3 will come with 3 battery variants. The base variant will come with  45kWh of battery. The 2nd one will be of 58kWh power. Also, there is a third model of 77kWh battery pack.
