Tesla has launched officially in Iceland. The new Tesla center has opened at Reykjavík. Interested customers can now place orders for Model X, Model S and Model 3.

Iceland is a suitable place for Tesla’s business to thrive. The place has a 100% renewable source of electricity. Petroleum is expensive in Iceland. It’s due to the remote location. So, we can expect people to prefer an electric mode of transport. Especially, for the purpose of a daily commute, an EV will be quite suitable.

The automaker announced the opening in Iceland on its Twitter handle.

Previously, people could only import the Tesla car of their choice. However, import duties add up to the total cost making the whole affair expensive. Also, when there is no official sales/service center, it makes the maintenance part of a car difficult.

Back in 2017, Tesla users of Iceland complained to Tesla. They requested for an official service center. The automaker provided them with mobile tech support. However, that was not sufficient.

Finally, Tesla has now launched officially in Iceland. In the near future, Tesla will also install 3 supercharger stations across the country. This will enable the people to travel up longer distances without having to worry about charging charge their EVs.
