Electric vehicle startup Rivian has unveiled its electric delivery van. This electric van is exclusively made for the popular online retailer Amazon. This unveiling was quite surprising. Earlier Rivian never hinted that it is working on an electric delivery van.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has revealed that his company has invested over $700 million in Rivian. The automaker will provide around 1,00,000 electric delivery vans for the e-commerce giant. However, this does raise one question. Will all these electric vehicles serve only Amazon.? Will Rivian make more of such electric vans for other business giants.? Are we going to see any separate variant of this electric van which the public can use.?

As you may see from the image, Rivian’s electric van has the branding of Amazon’s Prime on its body. Also, there is a brand labeling of Rivian. It says “Powered by Rivian”.

According to Jeff Bezos, Rivian will most probably start delivering the electric vans by 2021. Keep in mind that Rivian has to make a huge number of these vans (1,00,000 to be exact). Bezos expects that by 2024 Rivian will be able to deliver all of the vans. So, maybe these range of electric delivery van will only be available to Amazon exclusively.

Sources say that more details regarding the electric van will be available next week. Of course, it is the same old routine. First, we get teased with the first look of the vehicle. Then in the subsequent weeks, we get to know about the specifications of the electric vehicle. Also, we may expect some unofficial leaks.
