Owners of the upcoming all-electric Porsche Taycan will be able to enjoy Apple Music. It is the first instance where the popular music app is merging into an EV as a standalone app.

The Taycan will come with Apple CarPlay. It will be available in the EV’s instrument console display. Apple Music will not limit itself to electric cars. The other cars from Porsche will also have it. The purpose is to provide seamless digital entertainment to passengers. The music content available for iPhone and the Taycan’s interface will be the same.

Taycan owners will have access to over 50 million songs. Also, they can enjoy a curated playlist and live radio station. Users can summon the music app using the touch interface. An app icon will be available on Taycan’s touch interface. They can use the voice command as well.

The German automaker wants the entertainment to be a seamless process. Users will not have to perform any device pairing. Nor there is any need for separate accounts. Taycan owners will have a unique ID. This one they have to link with their respective Apple ID.

Both new and existing owners of Porsche can enjoy Apple Music free for 6-months. After that period, the users have to pay for streaming music. The Porsche Taycan owners will also enjoy free in-car internet service for three years.

2019 all-electric Porsche Taycan will launch on 4th September 2019. The upcoming electric coupe packs 300-600 horsepower. It will come with an option for 80kWh and 96kWh battery. The premium electric car will have a 2-speed gearbox as well. You can get more details about the Taycan on Porsche official website.
