This bike is available in three color variants. These are the Orange fuse, yellow fuse, and all-black. All these finishes look quite catchy. The powertrain very massive and performs efficiently at the same time.

Riding Modes

The HD Livewire comes with seven Riding modes. Out of which four are pre-programmed modes. These are Road, Sport, Rain, and Range. Along with this, there are 3 more modes which are fully customizable by the rider. The user can define the acceleration, braking, throttle response, and traction control.

Frames, Braking and Suspension

The Livewire is built of a rigid aluminum frame. It will offer a smoother handling and overall great riding experience to the user. the suspension duty is carried out by the Showa. The bike uses Showa separate function front fork big piston. It has a balanced mono-shock rear suspension from Showa.

For braking, Livewire is equipped with Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers gripping dual 300 mm diameter rotors on the front wheel.

Tires

Harley-Davidson Livewire packs the branded Michelin Scorcher tires. The rear tire measures 180mm while the front measures 120mm.

Performance

This sustainable bike doesn’t comprise with performance. It offers a peak torque of 118Nm. Livewire has a top speed of 180km/h. This bike can zoom off from 0-100km/h in a mere 3 seconds. Also, it will take only a second for the bike to accelerate from 100 to 130km/h.  That itself proves how powerful is the powertrain of the bike.

This bike packs a high-voltage 15.5 kWh Li-ion battery. The bike maker claims that within the city limits LiveWire will exhibit a range of 225km. On the highways, it enables the rider to ride up to 142 Km per charge. this definitely sounds impressive.

Charging

The bike comes with an on-board Level-1 charger which the user can connect to any domestic charging point. However, charging this way is a time taking process. the bike will be completely charged overnight. The second and faster option is to visit any public DC charging station. These are the Level 3 chargers that can charge the Livewire up to 80% in only 40 minutes. So, in 1 hour your bike will juice itself up and all set to rule the roads again. There is separate space under the seat to store the power cord.

App Connectivity

The Livewire owners will install an official smartphone app to check for the battery status of the bike. It will also alert the rider during a possible situation of bike theft.

Price & Availability

The price of the Harley-Davidson is the US is $29,799. This is approximately Rs 22 lakhs INR(excluding taxes ). However, the bike’s price in India will be much higher. As per the speculations, it may cost around a whopping 45 lakhs INR. Import duty is one major reason for the high cost of this bike.

The Harley-Davidson Livewire will begin selling in India around 2020. There is no exact date for this as of now. This electric motorcycle will definitely find its niche enthusiasts in India.
