Automaker Nissan is currently seeding a software update for its 2018 and 2019 Nissan Leaf. This update is available for the Leaf owners in North America. The latest Nissan Leaf software update aims to fix the slow DC charging issue.

After upgrading, the US Nissan Leaf users will be able to have the same rate of charge as the European users. This issue began when many users of the second generation leaf would complain of fast charging is not working. Instead, it is actually slow in charging their EVs. Though the second generation of Nissan Leaf is an efficient EV, the charging issue was setting it back from its performance.

DC charging is the fast way of juicing up an electric vehicle in a span of some minutes. Usually, with DC fast charge an EV can attain up to 80% of charge in less than half an hour.

Nissan Leaf is a popular highway-capable hatchback ruling the roads around the globe since 2011. Currently, it is available in the 62 kWh and 40 kWh options. It began selling in Japan and later spanning into other continents such as Europe and the US.

It offers a smooth and elegant design with a large rear spoiler, a lower hood, flat underbody, electric motor undercover, rear diffuser. The design is good enough to offer better airflow. This EV also packs comfortable heated front bucket seats and a 60/40 split-folding heated rear seat and rear HVAC duct. Nissan leaf can reach 100 km/h in 10.6 seconds. It uses a front electric motor with an output of 80kW that provides 254 Nm of torque. It can recharge its battery up to 80% in just half an hour using DC fast charge.
