Electric vehicles have a bright future in India. Recently there has been a cutdown in GST for electric transports in the country. This is making way for various automakers to produce more eco-friendly vehicles. Popular Indian automaker Tata has extensive plans for releasing new electric cars. At a recent annual meeting, Chairman of Tata Motors confirmed about launching four new Tata electric cars in India.

The new cars will be Nexon Electric, Altroz electric, and a 2nd-generation Tata Tiago. There are also plans for releasing one more sustainable vehicle. This car has no name as of now. All these cars will launch in the next one and a half year of timeframe.

The Chairman mentions they have a great vision for the EV market in India. The recent slash in GST will boost up their plans for electric vehicles. Currently, there is only one Tata electric car in India, the Tigor EV. Though it is selling well, with more fleet of EVs the sales figure will get better.

Tata Tigor EV is a five-seater sedan currently produced in India. It is fully electric with auto transmission. It has a power of 40.23bhp at 4500rpm. This EV produces a torque of 105Nm at 2500rpm. Tigor EV costs around 10 lakhs INR.
