Technology is advancing to new levels with each passing day. Currently, we are experiencing a boom in the domain of electric vehicles. The scope of sustainable vehicles is no more restricted to land only. Now, it has spanned its reach to air as well. Speaking of which, a unique all-electric air-taxi called the Volocopter has made its debut flight in Germany.

The volocopter took its first flight in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. This EV has been developed by a startup. It is being supported by the popular automaker Daimler. This air taxi is based on the working of regular drones.

The Volocopter has a top speed of 100kmph. It can cover a range of 27km. primarily, it aims to provide point-to-point quick transport. It will run with 18 motors and 9 battery packs.

The CEO of Volocopter says that air taxis are the future of urban mobility. These sustainable flying taxis are safe and quiet in their work. Currently, they are under their testing phase. Soon, this air-taxi will enter the implementation phase.

Using the air-taxi will help reduce the traffic issue on the roads. This is a major reason why Volocopters should begin their operations fast. Huge traffic is a major issue in many major cities in the world.

Also, electric flights are not a new concept. Earlier we mention of the Norwegian electric airplane Alpha Electro G2. Recently it crashed in Southern Norway.

Let’s hope that this air-taxi makes its entry soon. It will help solve traffic issues. Also, it will provide quick and sustainable mobility for the public.
