Description
The Tesla Roadster is an electric sports car that was produced by Tesla Inc. It was in production in California from 2008 to 2012. The Roadster happens to be the first highway legal all-electric car to use lithium-ion battery cells. It is the first production all-electric car to travel more than 320 kilometers on a one-time charge. The Tesla Roadster 2.5 is also the first production car to be launched into orbit, carried by a Falcon Heavy rocket in a test flight on February 6, 2018.
Performance
The Tesla Roadster can easily hit from 0 to 14,000 rpm, accelerating at 100km/h at an amazing speed. In addition, it can travel up to 244 miles (400km) on one-time charge maxing out at 200km/h. Everything happening on the electric charge.
Design
If we look at the design, the Roadster’s interior cabin lacks comfort, luxury, convenience and most importantly cargo room. It is very much of a sports car by design and function. It is not a regular city commuter. In 2014, the model got an upgrade to a new battery pack from LG Chem which increased the capacity of the EV by 50 to 80 percent. It also introduced a new aero kit which is designed to reduce the drag and upgraded to new tires with lower rolling resistance.
Price
This model has now been discontinued. A used Tesla Roadster 2.5 base will cost $ 64,990.
